Suggestions for defensive round in kel tec 32

I've been carrying standard FMJ rounds in this gun just to make up for such a short barrel. Figure a hollow point wouldn't sufficient penetration in a small round from a gun like this. What is the most common round people carry for a 32 pocket gun?

id say your best bet is to go with fmj in the 32 especially hot ones if you can find them in the keltec's when you go with hollow points you risk a nasty rimlock .

FMJs are just fine in my opinion.

Winchester Silvertips are the standard defensive round for the .32, FMJ's penetrate but dont transfer energy well. Try a couple of differant bullets to find one that will feed.

I've got a friend that carries 2 Gold Dots (1 in the chamber then the first one in the magazine) and the rest FMJ in his P32.

Hmmmm. You're friend must live just down the street from me! I just picked up a P32 (for those days that I can't "really" carry a gun) and that was what he suggested to me. I haven't done it yet and am just carrying the gun with a mag full of Fiocchi FMJ.

You ARE aware that they make Federal Hydra-Shoks in .32 auto, right? Federal Premium Ballistics

Visit that site and take a look at the ballistics. Much better option than FMJ. Penetration isn't the problem, the Hydrashoks will penetrate just fine... but once it gets inside the perp, you'd like it to do a little more damage than FMJ would. Like I said, check out the ballistics.

CorBon Pow'RBall

A hot cartridge with a round tip to aid in feeding. I'd suggest something more reliable than a KelTec, but that's a diff issue.

I guess I'll be looking into the silvertips, hydrashoks, and powerball ammo. Hopefully it wont have any problems feeding hollow points. It's been very reliable so far. I know the 32 isnt much of a gun and some people dont have a very high opinion of kel tec. The 32 is the gun I carry when I'm not carrying a gun, to quote the friend I bought it from. My normal carry gun is an xd9 service or a pt140.

I had no idea they made a .32 powRball

Awesome...

You shouldn't have any feeding issues with the powrballs considering they have a little polymer ball in the "hollow point cavity"
So it's shaped just like an FMJ more or less.
