Great deal on a Sig 226!!!

I was at Bass Pro today and I saw a Sig P-226 for $529 . It was marked reconditioned. The salesman was telling me that what it was is that Sig had lots of the older , but still new frames without the rail system like the newer ones . Anyhow , they took these older but still new and unused frames and put new stainless slides on them and there you have a bi-tone NEW Sig P-226 for $529 . Since they are using these "older" frames they have to mark them as "reconditioned". I was skeptical knowing how some morons are that work behind these counters , so I looked and tore it apart and its NEW and for sure ALL NEW . You cant beat that in my opinion! I would have got it but I made a promise to not use credit cards and I am out of cash as I type . So heres a good chance to get a new Sig for $250-300 off the normal price. This BassPro is in Nashville Tn . Just thought I'd pass along a good deal to you all. Wish I had the money

Sounds like a CPO. Sig takes the guns, replaces all the springs & wear items, re-finishes them and then sells them as CPOs (Certified Pre-Owned I assume) for much less than a brand new model. Easiest way to check is to look at the sticker & the box. The new regular Sigs will have a blue sticker/box while the CPOs will have a red sticker/box. Definitely a great way to get a "new" Sig though. I'm definitely not opposed to saving a few hundred dollars on a Sig that's been thoroughly reworked by the factory.
