Are springs easy to get? Interchangeable with newer models?

I just ordered the spring pack from Wulff. Seemed to work fine.

Yes, Wolff has all the p225 springs you will ever need. If you have feeding troubles, try swaping the mag spring. The stock mag that came with my Swiss P225 was a tad weak and gave me feed jams but a cheap Wolff replacement made it 100% reliable.
Looking for a good carry holster? I dearly love my DeSantis Speed Scabbard for carrying the P225. Well made and very comfortable...you'll forget its there!

Here's Mine:
It came from Aim Surplus at the beginning of April and I chose the hand pick option. I purchased the Sig as an "extra gun" in case friends wanted to come to the range. Or at least that's how I justified the purchase to my girlfriend and myself. The gun has minimal holster wear and for <$300 shipped it's a heck of a deal.
I picked up a the parts kit, a stock 24lb hammer spring and a 19lb hammer spring from Top Gun Supply. If I was to do it over again, I'd just pick up a lighter hammer spring and maybe some mag springs. One of my mag springs was a little bent but still functioned 100%. All of the springs included with the TGS kit are accessible simply by taking off the grip panels. Although, the hammer spring is a real pain to replace. I ended up wrapping the frame in a rag and putting it an aluminum jawed vice clamped between the bottom of the bottom of the trigger guard and the top of the slide rails. From there I used a flat head screwdriver to compress the spring retainer and the spring into the back strap. I completely detail stripped the gun just the fun of it. It's pretty easy to do without directions you just need some patience. If you are going to do a full detail strip make sure you buy the firing pin spring and the firing pin safety spring as they aren't included with the parts kit supplied by Top Gun Supply.
People on the interwebs have stated that the P6 uses heavier springs than the P225. If this is true my stock P6 hammer spring was worn out to almost what Wolf/Top Gun Supply consider a stock P225 spring weight. I wouldn't bother with the P225 24lb stock spring as the DA trigger pull is still way to heavy.
I bent the hook on a 25lb mechanical fish scale to make a half-arsed trigger gauge and here is what I found:
Used P6 Spring: 13-14lb DA / 4-4.5lb SA
Wolf 24lb Hammer Spring: 12-13lb DA / 4.5lb SA
Wolf 19lb Hammer Spring: 9.5lb DA / 4-4.5lb SA
I don't know what a good DA trigger should feel like but even with the 19lb spring the trigger is still a lot heavier than I would be comfortable firing accurately. I might try the 17lb spring at a later date.
So far I've been to the range three times with the P6 and I've put around 300 rounds of WWB through it. 100 of those rounds came before the overhaul and new springs. I had one stovepipe post overhaul but the WWB might be to blame. I had two rounds fail to feed out of that same box in my XD9 which had never happened prior in over 1200 rounds. As many people have stated the DA trigger pull is lonnnnnnnnnng. There is quite a bit of take-up on the SA trigger then a quick clean break. The reset is quite long as well. From all the hype about Sigs I honestly would have expected more. One of the guys who works at the range tried it and said there was quite a bit more take up in the SA pull than what their rental Sigs have. Maybe my trigger bar or something else is worn. I may have to buy another P6 just to compare. Even though the P6 has a slightly shorter barrel than the XD9 Service it seems to be about as accurate which is to say more accurate than I am.
Overall, the P6 is a great gun for the price and appears to have been well cared for. It shoots well but the trigger could use some love. If I shot it enough I'm sure I could get used to the SA pull but my XD is still my favorite.

Tell me what the deal is with these guns? I was at a LGS today and he had gotten some of these in and had them for 325.00. Gun looked almost brand new. Where are these coming from? Why so cheap? What was their original price? Give me some info...Kinda ignorant on the Sigs. Thanks!!

They are German Police pistols from the late '70s - early 80's now being imported by CAI and maybe others for surplus. Single stack, 9mm, compact aluminum frame, stamped slides... SIG goodness. Aim Surplus, Centerfire Systems, CDNN, Dan's Sporting Goods all have them for <$300.

these pistol are imported into the US by different importers straight from germany, they are used german police trade ins.. often times there were carried a lot and shot very little.. a lot of them have marginal holster wear but can easily be fixed by CCR. they are very fine weapons, basicly they are a compact 9mm version of the Sig P220 pistol. it has been said that some of the P6 trade ins have different barrel from the the formal P225 so sometimes dont do so well with hollow point ammo. all P6 and P225 parts are interchangable but it has been noted that sig plans to discontinue making anything springs and parts for both of these pistols. they are so cheap because of how many P6s (thousands) that are flooding into the US.. now a P225 is a different story and will go for sometime double that of a P6 and in sig circles is somewhat of a cult pistol and often times seen as one of the best sig pistols ever made. by all means if you can get one than do so, it is a nice pick up especially for the price, but by no means believe any dealer or GB ad that says these are very rare and sought after, but they are ncie firearms.

Got mine few days ago.
It shows most holster wear of all P-6 my gunshop had.
But this one had tightest slide to frame fit, and lockup.
Since I planned to send this one out for electroless chrome, I just picked one with tight fit and no scratch.
and after new grip(sorry for the bad lighting). Plastic OEM grip were just disgrace to this weapon..
and with my carry holster..
All it needs now is lighter spring(DA is heavy), and night sight, then off to Roberguns for Electroless chrome!

where did you get the wood grip from and how much was it. at first i thought the grip was hideous, i resigned my self to keeping it versus paying $70 for a pachymar rubber grip, or the fancy wood grip i forge the name brand ???? i think they were $80 something.
My hope is since houge made the rubber molds for the p6/p225, that someone will buy the mold they have moth balled and make some half decent quality rubber grips for under $40. I just cant stomach paying $70 plus tax, plu shipping for a $259 gun. Its like putting $8,000 rims on my car.
I have convinced myself the grips are ok, my hand fits snuggly and its no show piece.
