SP-101 problems>>>UPDATE
Picked up my new SP last week, and found that the trigger was pretty gritty and heavy.
I figured with enough dry firing, things would start to smooth out...WRONG. The more I worked it, the worse it got. It got to the point that the trigger would lock back on 3 of the 5 chambers. Slightly thumbing the hammer or rotating the cylinder, would release it, but half the time, the trigger would not go all of the way forward without a little help.
Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper. Unlike S&W. Ruger doesn't spend much time cleaning up the innards.
I gave Ruger a call and explained my dilemma, and they immediately sent me out a return authorization by email (free, of course).
Hopefully, I will be getting back a usable weapon. I've spoken to some of the fellas on the Ruger Forum, and this is not an unusual occurrence. Ruger has made it right in all circumstances, from what I'm told.

I also looked that the 442/642, tom...I like the the little bit larger size of the SP. It's not really a pocket pistol, but does work pretty good in cargo pants and shorts.
Carrying IWB is great, though.

Update on original article
Got my SP-101 back from Ruger today, and the list of repair and replacements covers just about every moving part in the gun.
Everything about it now is what it should have been in the first place. They even installed a spur-less hammer (my request), even though it wasn't part of the warranty, and returne the original hammer.
While the action still isn't up to S&W standards, it's pretty damned close.

I actually order a Desanti's Tuck this for a Charter Arms Bulldog (that why I asked) and it works pretty well. I have been impressed how well the bulldog conceals so the SP101 should be the same.

Frenchy...
I'm glad you got satisfaction from Ruger. My SP-101 was my carry gun for about 15 years or so. It is like a dear friend to me. My XD has taken her place as primary carry gun but she still does home defense duty. It's a great little gun. And you made the right call getting the bobbed hammer. You won't regret it.

Had an SP-101... nice little pocket rocket... If you feel ambitious, a little emery cloth and some elbow grease, and you could clean up that action to almost smooth as silk.... all it takes is time.

I'm leaning toward the CrossBreed, Indy. The reviews have been overwhelmingly excellent.
I wanted the hammerless in the first place Bree, but the spurred model was the only one in stock at the time, so it worked out pretty good.
I've got the BOK from the Ruger Forum trik, so I might just tackle the fine work.
