Remington Rant.....

Bought my son a "starter" over/under from Dick's right around Thanksgiving. A Remington 310 20G, good deal both he and I liked the gun. He's maybe, maybe, put 400 rounds of Remington Gun Club Loads through it. We come home from shooting on Saturday and go to clean the gun.....the choke tube in the upper bore has broken....half of it screws out, the other half remains inside, and it looks like it ain't ever coming out.

Dick's cop's out and says I have to call Remington. Remington says I have to ship it back for them to look at. How long is that gonna take. For Pete's sake, it's a brand new gun!!! ARGHHHHHH!!!!!

Thank you all, I feel much better now.

Billy

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but from personal experience, I can say you'll probably get quicker service by sending it yourself rather than having Dick's send it in. You're the end user and Remington is more likely to try to make you happy than to expedite a broken gun for a large "faceless corporation". Also, I wouldn't expect that Dick's is going to rush to get your gun in the mail or to call you the minute it comes back in.

If you call Remington and clearly express your disappointment, they will likely send you a prepaid label (only the barrels have to go back, anyway). Do yourself a favor and take some good digital photos so that if the barrels don't come back in the same condition as they were sent, you have evidence so you can get things made right.

You're probably right, it's just such a hassle.

It's the modern Remington.

Actually its a Bakilington made in Mother Russia by Bakil. But Remington will take care of it. They still are a great company that stands behind their products.

Remington was once a proud American company that took pride in their firearms. Now - not so much

I love the old Remington's! It hard to beat the quality in the old 870's 1100's. I haven't been impressed with anything they have made in quite a while.

You speak the truth, it's a Russian gun. But candidly, both my son and I really like the gun. I just disappointed that we have to go through this hassle for a brand new gun. i have a good feeling that Remington will come through.

I guess that's why my gunsmith friend said buy a mossy He also said, they are not what they used to be and that production quotas are the problem.
