How would you attach a TLR-1 light to a shotgun?
I've got a new TLR-1 that I have no use for, since I traded in my XD45 for a subcompact 9.
I want to attach the TLR-1 to my home defense shotgun and I'd like to know how you would go about attaching it.
Most products I've seen only allow you to use regular-style flashlights, but I want something that uses a picatinny-style mount that works with my tactical light.
This is what I DO NOT like:
This is the closest thing that I've found, but I dont think the fake flashhider will look good on it.
Any suggestions? Pics of your setup would be helpful too. Thanks in advance!!

Oh, by the way, here is the shotgun I have: NEF Protector with an 18.5" barrel
It's drilled and tapped for a scope base, but I rather have the light directly below the barrel in front of the action.

Check out Cheaper Than Dirt (whatever there website is). They sell a rail mount system that clamps around the barrel/magazine tube/both of 'em. Its agood product that I had on mine for a little. I ditched it because my shotty is now my patrol long gun.

I had one like this and if worked great with my TLR-2 on my 870.

But when I put a 3 point sling on, I installed the sling mount and bought something very much like this one, but it's just a clamp around the mag tube with a rail (without the flashlight mount).

Here's another...

This was just a quick search. I am sure you can find something that works well without much expense. If you want a pic of mine, let me know and I will click one.

Unless you can get a remote swith for the TLR-1, I would not attach it to a shotgun. You need to be able to work the controls and the TLR-1 was intended to be mounted on a pistol.

The Streamlight TLR remote switches for the TLR-1 and TLR-2 weapon-mounted tactical lights are available now, and carry an MSRP of $39.95 each. The required battery door/switch assembly retails for $49.95, and suggested retail price of the TLR key kit is $10.00. For more information, visit http://www.streamlight.com or call 800-523-7488.

In the mean time, this is the way I jerry-rigged it to work: good ol zip ties. Now I just need to order the remote switch to control the light.
