What's glock's warranty??

Hey all,

Guy I work with is convinced glock's warranty is greater than the XD's. I told him springfield offers a 100% lifetime warranty on any non-modified part.

Major problem? Send it back, they fix it.

I looked on glocktalk (couldn't find details) and at glock.com (didn't list any warranty details (not a good sign? Springfield uses their warranty as a selling point, and so they should.))

Anyone own a glock, and can maybe summarize from the manual/warranty card?

Thanks

If you break a Glock they will fix it for free. I bought a G17 from 1996 and called Glock to see whether they would fix it if it broke. They said as long as the gun was all Glock then yes.

If the use of aftermarket parts is not involved in the malfunction, then Glock will fix the malfunction's cause free and return your aftermarket parts to you, along with the repaired Glock.

Good news is that you don't have to send your Glock back to Glock unless you have a catastrophic failure. Anything else can easily be repaired by any consumer with enough sense to get in out of the rain.

Try getting replacement parts for that XD!

Glock warranty is lifetime.

If they can't fix it... they will just send you a new gun.

I had a glock that broke by using an after market metal guide rod, the guide rod battered the plastic frame so much that the slide wouldn't go into full battery, they would have replaced it for free, he said, but I had custom work done to the grip, which voided the warranty. It only cost me about $40 for a new frame.

Take a Glock barrel out of the gun, drop a round in the breech. Then rattle the barrel. Round is loose and "unsupported." Then scribe a line on the headspaced case along the margin of the loading ramp. Glock ramp cuts under the web in the case.

Glock is reliable as hell because the breech is oversized, unsupported. That's fine if you're shooting new ammo. If you're reloading, your brass is being stretched, metal fatigued, and prone to catastrophic failure. Hence the well known term, "Glock kB" -- as in "kaBOOM" . . .

That and they point like a cinder block, with a cheap, spongy trigger.
i beleive any gun manufacturer including springfield will not cover reloaded ammo in their firearms not just glock

Glock's warranty on new guns is officially one year, but, Glock continues to support their guns long after that.

On the Glock Factory Refurbished guns there is a Lifetime Warranty.
