nightraider,
The Gander Mtn. on 290 @ Hwy 6 (right by my house) has about 5 P6s for sale and they are asking 399 apiece. They also have a well worn Swiss P225 that is going for around 425-450.
I bought my slightly worn Swiss P225 from this store back in April. It has some honest holster wear, but the internals were pristine. These were a special run, built in the Swiss Hammerli plant for the Swiss Police (not in Eckenforde, Germany...where most early SIGs were built) and are not very common at all. They also have the heel mag release, which turns some people off, but I figure I'll never accidentally hit the mag release button while carrying concealed (done that before).
Its cool to see "Montage Suisse" on the slide, where you usually see "Made in W. Germany." The Swiss P225 Gander has some serious holster wear and has been there a long time. I am guessing the holster wear has turned many off from buying it...too bad...they're mising a great shooter. After stripping this pistol and comparing it to my W. German P220, I really think the Swiss SIGs are even better made than the W. German models..if that is possible.
Since April, I have run tons of ammo through the Swiss P225 and have not experienced a malfuction. It is also deadly accurate and easy to carry concealed. I bought a DeSantis Speed Scabbard from an e-bay auction for 40 bucks and the P225 carries great and you forget you have it on.
Yes, if you want an inexpensive CCW 9mm that is high quality, the P225s at Gander Mtn. are worth a look! I'll bet if you offered them 400 cash, you could take home the Swiss P225 on the spot. That one and mine are the only two Swiss P225s I have ever seen in the flesh...seriously...they're not all that common, as they did not make very many and they were made only in the early 80s for police issue, not commercial sales.
(I still cannot believe nobody has bought the Swiss P225 - its fairly rare, but Tuesday night, it was still there)

Very cool, I think I'm going to go pick up one of those P6's. I used to live in the Copperfield area right next to the Gander but moved way up to northwest Texas for a job assignment. Now I'm about to move again down to Houston, probably near the West Loop area (near work, yucky traffic).

I wish I lived close enough to Houston to make that trip. I've always wanted a sig226.

Sigs are rather nice -- aren't they?
Though my first love was, and still is, the Glock 17, both the 226 in 9mm and the 229 in 357 Sig are superb pistols. Especially that 229. Accurate, easy to shoot, neatest .357 Sig I've shot.
By the way, I've also got a Sig Trailside 22. That's just an awesome 22. Great trigger, really nice to shoot.

You want my wife to kill me don't you?
A P220 was my first choice when I got my XD, but the MSRP was kinda steep.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.
I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.
Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

Strange, though I love Sigs, I really am not that fond of the 220. I bought one FTF some time ago -- shot it -- really didn't like it. Sold it for what I paid.
For some reason, I shoot both the Glock 21 and XD45 better. I really WANTED to like the 220. Thought it was a beautiful, cool pistol -- I just didn't shoot it that well.
The XD was cheaper, has a larger capacity, is reliable, and accurate. Might not have the "cool factor" of the Sig -- but it works better for me.
For some strange reason, there always seems to be a lot of 220's for sale. Go look at the Sig Forum, and various other gun lists -- it's almost as if the 220 doesn't quite fulfill it's promise for some folks.
At the same time, an awful lot of folks swear by it. I just think that if i'm going to go with an 8 round, heavy, bulky .45 --- I'd get a really neat 1911.

I had planned on it, but you guys sort of got me thinking hard, and I bit hte bullet and did it. I want all of you to know that you were there with me buying that gun.
I was so close to buying a P229 Equinox. REAL CLOSE. $919 bucks OUCHH!!!
