Sig Sauer p228 grip-measurements

So, I was just asked by a friend to make a wooden grip for a Sig Sauer p228, but it's for a christmas present so I can't get ahold of any measurements that I need of it. Does anyone out there have the dimensions of one. Even better would be a blueprint or something of one that I could work off of.

Also, I have not really had experience in gun grips, but I do have plenty in the woodworking end of it. Any suggestions about how to do it would be appreciated.

You could hardly pick a worst first choice for making grips, between the decocker and the wrap around it's going to be a buttload of work and lots of fitting. My two W.German 228s aren't even the same, I fitted grips for one and had to refit them to the other one.

You're likely to have to buy a set to go by..

Factory Sig replacement grips - P228 - Top Gun Supply

These are DAK Nills for a P229, and there is no decocker groove.
I'd measure them but I sold they a few years ago..
probably too much for to measure anyway.
There is a lot more to them than one might think..
Each of those small squares is a half inch, but that probably doesn't help you much..

Good luck............1LL
