OP,
until glock gets the brass-to-the-face ejection issues solved on their newer guns (2010 and above) avoid glock at all costs......

I'm a huge Springfield fan but Glocks are great weapons. I've gone with the intention of buying one several times but something else always felt better....but I am a proud owner of a Gen4 22 and will soon own a 27. The 4's feel so much better to me.

Odd, as neither of my Gen 4 Glocks have issues. For the OP, don't let the internet hype stop you from getting a late model. Every gun manufacturer has issues, XD, Sig, Ruger, you name it. My thinking is there are more late model Glock's that work than don't. Yes, I had a late model Gen 3 G19 that had BTF and weak ejection issues and a god awful G36 that would have 3-5 FTF's and FTE every 50 rounds. But my late model Gen 3 G17 and my Gen 4 G17/19 had and are fantastic...thus far.

Agreed with the above.
I know a couple people with gen4's, and thousands of rounds down the tubes...no brass to the face with any them.
If you are truly worried about it, look for a used gen3. Can often be found for under $450, still in excellent condition, and still have a lifetime of use in it.
And definitely get yourself a Glock. They are great pistols--haters loooove to hate 'em, but the fact is, they just. plain. WORK.

Many that have bought brand new Glock 9mms (in the last few months) have reported none of the "brass to face" issues at all. Even after 100s of rounds of shooting. Maybe...MAYBE...Glock quietly fixed their erratic ejection issues?
If not, there is always the Apex fix if you need it. Some do...some don't and you won't know until you buy it and shoot it.
I still think Glock is a safe buy...especially an older one.

I have a Gen4 G19 with over 2500 rounds with NO brass to the face and no issues at all. My DIL has a Gen4 G26 with no brass to the face so far.
