I was just about to take the gun apart completely and I noticed that the nut at the end of the guide rod was coming loose!

FML. What should I apply to the threads to keep it from unscrewing? I have not had this problem with the stainless steel glockmesiter guide rod and it is still tight as a bank vault.

Use blue loctite first. If the screw still come loose, use red loctite. A little dip will go a long way. You can find the threadlocker @ any autopart store or retail stores with autopart section.

Roger, got it. Blue loctite, red if it keeps misbehaving. Available at auto parts stores...

Wait, is it sold as loctite or just a thread locker @ the auto stores?

Loctite is the manufacturer for the threadlocker. Same as other threadlocker manufacturer like permetax.

I forgot I had a tube stashed in a deep, dark corner of the basement. I literally woke up from sleep, went "oh, yeah", then went digging to find it lol.

I did find and apply it. So I'll let the stuff sit overnight and shoot it tomorrow. Should be more than fine because I think I squirted A LOT on there...

Dude I'll have the same problem. Wake up from a dead sleep & be thinking of something & have to handle/deal w/it now, even if it's like 3am.

I think I may have ADD! My wife tells me so

A lot of Loctite won't bond as well as a proper, thin coat. However, it should work for this purpose.

You could also try switching to the "DREADED" plastic guide rod ....Because I know how much you love those!
