Gen 4 G23 range report with frustrating Remington ammo

I'm liking shooting the .40 S&W more and more but was frustrated today by FTF's but I think it was the Remington ammo only. I shot the following:

100 rounds of Remington 180gr JHP
100 rounds of Federal White Box 180gr FMJ
50 rounds of Speer Lawman 180gr FMJ
10 rounds of Speer GD 180gr JHP

The only issues were with the Remington, had 8-9 FTF's. Easy fix, looked like the rounds were getting hung up on the feeding ramp. Happened the other day with a Blazer round as well. The hang-ups occurred in both magazines I was using today. With the other stuff, zero issues. No FTF, FTE, or brass to the face. Is it possible I got a bad batch of Remington? It is cheap, $31 for a box of 100 rounds at Walmart.

I've already put 200 rounds of .357 Sig through the gun as well with my G32 barrel. I've had 1 FTF with a WWB 125gr. I also have shot 200 rounds of .40 prior to today, that one 1 FTF. In addition, I have already fired 100 rounds of this cheap Remington 180gr JHP without issue and thus why I think maybe I got a bad batch.

Frustrated as I'm liking the .40 as a sd round. Getting better at shooting it and though I like the .357 Sig a bit more, it's just that bit more expensive to shoot. I always use Speer Gold Dots for sd, 125gr for .357 and 180gr for the .40.

I guess it's possible to get a bad batch of ammo. I shoot Remington & WWB from Wal-mart along w/Federal w/great luck so far. I'd say try another box & see what happens.
Good luck & keep us posted...

I started off using this Remington ammo with my G23, I've used two boxes now and this second one was when it happened. Could have been me getting tired and limping it a bit I suppose. I finished with 100 rounds of Federal white box, no problems. I've had one FTF with in 250-300 rounds of .357 Sig and it was this Remington green and white box. I usually carry my G23 with .357 Sig anyway.

Update, put another 150 rounds through it today:

100 rounds of WWB 165gr
50 rounds of Federal White Box 165gr

no issues at all. Even limp wristed a bit, no issues except I got hit with brass when I did lol

I think Remington Ammo or UMC is kinda spotty stuff..

My Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 has an issue with it. The slide has never locked back on the last round with that stuff.

Even Federal, the supposedly lighter charged stuff will lock it back.

If your batch of ammo wasn't seated at the right depth you will have an issue, and someone with a revolver will laugh at you..
