The 92 Beretta has its good points. It is very reliable, low recoil, well made and has a long sight radius.

The bad points? The safety is way up on the slide and awkward, the trigger is VERY long and stagey, the grip is overly fat as is the slide and you are pretty much stuck with the front sight, as it is part of the slide and not dovetailed and replaceable.

...does that help?

LOL

Buy what you like, then you can't blame us if it's a bad choice.

Bad things about the M9/92.

I don't like the fixed front sight. The safety/decocker takes some getting used to. I had a beat to hell M9 jam on me during quals and I missed expert by one shot. Tap, rack bang works unless its the last round in the mag and the USAF wouldn't let shoot the round that hit the floor. The DA/SA trigger isn't much compared to my Sig.

I actually like the M9, fits my hand well, soft recoil, long sight radius, very accurate and if maintained works very well.

If you like it, buy it and be happy!

Slide mounted safety is always a bad idea, every time.
Beretta has the crappiest warranty of any major manufacturer.
It's BIG, bigger than a niner needs to be these days.
That's about it, change the hammer spring for the "D" spring and you have an awesome shooter.

upside of 92a1 - front sight can be replaced, has recoil buffer ( don't see the need in 9mm though) . it is a Beretta, comes with 3 17 round magazines if you are not in a restricted state.

con's - holsters for 92a1 can be tough to find. slode mounted safety can be annoying. i do not really like the rounded trigger gaurds on the 92a1 and 90-two series

although i love the M9A1 i have and would like a 96a1 myself

Why would you need confirmation from anonymous keyboard peckers about a decision like this? I just don't get it! If you're an adult and you want the Beretta, why not just buy it???

Quoting the great Cinematic masterpiece known as Rocky V, "GO FOR IT!". I have a 92FS and I love it! Yes, it is large for a 9mm but I didnt buy it to be my carry weapon, just as a fun shooter, which it is. Good Luck!
