Traded XDS for G26

I finally found someone I was willing to deal with in regards to trading my XDS for 26 Glock. This guy has over 40 pistols and had shot this generation 3 Glock 26 once and never really shot it again. I bought my XDS on an impulse buy and after two range trips I just didn't like it. I kept comparing it to my Walther PPS which is such a fine shooter and the same size as the XDS. I found this guy on backpage.com and we met this morning and I traded him straight up. He even paid for my Crossbreed Suptertuck separately. I didn't really loose anything.

This is my first Glock and I'm anxious to shoot it. I have been eying the 26 or the 19 for a while and I feel so much happier with this! A range report will be in order some time in the future!

Maybe I can learn something. Given the non-traditional way you swapped firearms, how do you know the Glock is not stolen?

Very good point. I would have gladly swapped my LNIB G26 for the XDS. Only difference we would have to have done the transfer paper work to make it ligit.

This way we both could have walked away happy and that we both know niether gun was stolen or your not dealing with fellon who is not supposed to be owning guns. JMO here but I never would have done the deal the way you did. There's just to many unanswered questions for me to feel comfortable.

How do you know ANY used firearm you buy at a gun store isn't stolen?

I don't know about where you live but here in Oregon if a gun is traded in at a local gun shop it goes first through a comlete check with the state to be sure it was not a stolen gun.

Las Vegas NV. Clark County requires that all guns are registered within Clark County. Whenever you buy a gun from a local store it's automatic and you walk out with a registration card (blue card) and any private sell or trade is easily done at your local sherriffs office.

To the beet of my knowledge, there is no serial # check in the state of MN...damn sure there's no registration.

As it should be.

in Florida you don't even need a bill of sale... as long as they are 18 years old and have a vaild id/dl you are good to go by law. There isn't paperwork or transfers that need to be done at all.

Now on to the glock you will love it! They are about the same size the xds and g26 except the width and the xds is a tad taller.

Curious how you compare your pps to the xds when they aren't the same caliber though!
