Sig Sauer Mosquito issue.
Recently bought the GF a Sig Mosquito and we both love the thing! It is a little picky on the ammo it eats but outside of that we haven't had any problems till now and I wouldn't really call it a problem..
She's made sure to clean and lube it after every use but after this last trip to the range I noticed that the slide is becoming increasgingly harder to rack. Like I said, we keep it lubed up with the TWB-25...
Any thoughts?

The only lube recommended for the "Skeeter" is one drop of oil in the little hole in the slide every 500 drops. Run it practically dry otherwise.

Jeeze don't do that, lube it about like any other gun, just no heavy grease it is still just a 22 trying to push that slide around.
As for it getting hard to rack you need to open it up and look at what's going on inside cause that ain't natural.

My wife's Mosquito is really ammo picky.40.gr CCI's & Lapua Center-X is the only thing so far that it will eat. She had FTE problems & rough slide when we first bought it.
Had a RSO at the range take it home & look at it. He ended up polishing the feed ramp, milling down the extractor a bit & having to sand down & polish the slide itself where it meets the frame due to excessive paint.
Got it back & has been flawless w/ the ammo mentioned above. Mostly use the CCI's because they are cheaper then the Lapua. Also we noticed hers seems to run better w/a little extra lube & some what dirty...Good luck man!

Thanks for the info!
CCI mini's is all we run through it now but even after a deep cleaning and lots of lube the slide still sticks!
I'll probably have a the local shop look at the things you mentioned and hopefully we can get it running smoothly!

Where does it stick? Is it just "hard" to rack the slide? Are you getting failure to eject or failure to lock back on empty magazine? Is it hard to rack with the hammer back or only when its de-cocked?
My hammer area got dirty which made it short cycle the slide because the resistance of cocking the hammer. The only way to get it cleaned out was with a spray cleaner to blow the gunk out. That was after about 3000 rounds (the Mosquito gets shot, a lot!).

Yeah polishing and re-profiling the hammer face will help some too IF that is where the OP is having the racking problem.

OK, I am not sig bashing but I have read alot about the Mosquito's slide being made out of pot metal. I dont know if that is true or not but I have seen a few broken Mosquito slides on the sig site, if lube or oil does not make it move easily you may want a gunsmith to look at it just incase. Let us know what you find out. Dave
