NOT HAPPY w/G19

I originally tried to sell my G29 (ammo costs are a joke and ordering online gets annoying and is still not inexpensive)

So I traded a cool guy (Leo) for a new G4 G19. My first range trip was fine (100rds) and I loved the gun.

Yesterday , I got hit in the face (directly .. Dead center) 10 times (100rds).

It has the new extractor and GRSA -- It was not user error , I was taking face shots from hot brass and it burned.

I'm going to take my loss and get rid of it ...

I'm disappointed , and going to put the money in the bank and just get some ammo. I'm most confident in the M&P platform. I may get another LCP because I wanted another pocket pistol but I'm disappointed in glock , the 19 is perfect size / weight.

Jeez -- it was fine for 100rds now it went nuts !!

woah woah woah glocks are perfect watch what you're typing.
kidding, i'm not a glock fan myself
just because you're the "first" doesn't mean you're the best
especially with all the manufacturer competition/options nowadays

Ive been posting on here recently about wanting a Gock 17, I think you even responded to one of my posts. This was one of my concerns and it seems the general concensus is; hit or miss. Some do it and some do not. I'd hate to spend hard earned money and have happen what you experienced.

I love my Shield and might be considering a full size M&P. Supposedly all the M&P's coming out soon (I assume) will have the same stock trigger as the Shield.

Just too much uncertainty for me to have some people say they're great, some say they experienced issues etc.

Oh well, maybe it will sell fast for you.

I would contact Glock. They know some of the Gen 4's were having extractor "issues". They might just fix it for you for free. Worth a shot!

+1 on contacting Glock CS. There have been tons of posts discussing getting beaned by ejected rounds, so they may have an easy fix.

BTW... From what I've read, this is not Gen4 Specific and is not something that every single Glock suffers from. Like with any company, a few slip through.
I say this about ANY brand... Give them a chance to make it right before dumping it.
(pretty much what you wrote about the XD-S)

if the glock thing doesn't pan out, I hear Springfield offers a pretty good poly pistol these days.

I've owned Glocks and never got the face hits, but just didn't like the guns and sold / traded them for other guns. My defense guns are now 2 XDm's (9 and 45) and a 9 XDsc. Very happy with all of them.

M&P's are excellent choices as well and I've had fantastic success with S&W's customer service on my revolvers. Can't go wrong with Smith in my opinion (their customer service may even convince me to make my next 1911 a Smith).

I have an M&P compact so I don't want the 19 -- it was for CCW but now I'm just going to keep CCWing the M&P it is much better and ejects fine (not in my nose). I have the new ejector and GRSA and i don't want to keep it , I'd rather have a BUG for my M&P9C.

Are the PF9's junk or are the newer ones better ? I want to put some $$ in the bank and grab a pocket gun ...

Would you guys pick an LCP or PF9?? I know someone selling a khar cm9 but the price is "mysteriously" low at $350

(and I hear the new gen3's and 4's shoot brass like this -- my G29 never did that)

Relax...the Apex extractor is coming and it should fix this problem.

I find it difficult to believe that you did not know about the recent Glock 9mm ejection problems - it is the talk of every web board.

The culprit is the newer MIM extractors. Apex Tactical has been beta testing a machined replacement with very good results so far.

I have a gen 3 that is doing the same thing.

I'd wait for the extractor...the fix is close at hand.

Good for 100 rounds and then suddenly starts throwing brass in your face? I'll bet dollars to donuts that you changed ammo after the first 100 rounds. Am I right?
