Officially apex'd
Just got her back from my gunsmith ...
I got the APEX Competition Enhancement Kit AEK. Didn't hit the range yet -- but wow what an improvement ! This is a very very light trigger ... I'm not going to carry it until I hit the range . ..
The pull until it "holds?" is very very light , but once the trigger is "staged" (I assume , I know my wording is most likely wrong) and activated -- the process seems PERFECT and just what I wanted.*
I think it's the saftey that gives the "hold" before the "click" and if that's so , then I have no problems carrying this and am 10000% happy with this mod. It made this gun IMO perfect both ergo wise / trigger wise.
$101 for the kit ($10 more then the duty) -- install free !!! (thanks gun gallery jax)

Unless they're open on Sundays, I'm guessing you took it in today (Monday).
How long did it that them to install it? Did you wait on it?

Hey man congratulations on the trigger job, glad you're happy.
Price seems fair & can't beat the free install! Let us know how she shoots.

Congrats. I have the DCAEK on mp9c. I don't think I'd want the competition on a carry piece. The RAM should arrive today to make my trigger even better. The reset is much improved after the DCAEK, but the RAM only cost $26 shipped so I went for it.

Thanks guys ! And rich ill definitely post a range report ! I dropped the gun off at 3:00pm , and picked it up at 5:45 !!'
Gun gallery is great ! The price for the comp AEK is the same as any online source , and they did the install for free ! And fast ! Martin is awesome , he did a great job '
I'm going to get the RAM today ! only 20 bucks '
And this is mainly my range gun , only time my g29 won't be on me is if I'm in very very light clothing -- or a tight t-shirt.
The trigger is much improved , and hardly a hair trigger !

Do you know the weight of the trigger? I installed the DCAEK minus the trigger spring on my 9c and felt it was a little too light for carry at about 4lbs. I installed the trigger spring and got it up to 5.5lbs which was good but I wanted to go a little higher. I installed the FSS sear spring and that brought me up to 6lbs. Now my trigger is about the same weight as factory but is much smoother, cleaner break, less over-travel, and a much shorter/detectable reset. The comp kit just seems like it would be too light for me. My 9c has no manual safety and I carry it daily though. You cant go wrong with Apex... Enjoy!

How is the reset with this unit?
The problem with the M&P stock trigger is mostly in its reset....or near lack thereof.

The RAM arrived today and I just got done installing it. To recap, I've got an M&P9c with the DCAEK already installed. The reset with this setup is pretty good, but the RAM is only about $25 shipped so I ordered it. I can never leave well enough alone!
My results: if there is a difference after the RAM, it is very minor. The reset is definitely louder, but very little difference in felt reset. Would I suggest it if you have the DCAEK - no. If you don't want to spend the money on the DCAEK, I would definitely suggest the RAM.
Minkman, I'm anxious to hear your results after your install. I'm going to hit the range next week. I'll have some friends and family shoot it and see what they think.

Range report : most accurate gun I've even fired. Best groups ever out of a new gun ,Trigger is a glass breaker , staging is superb , and overall the apex kit was worth in my opinion more then $100.
Although my G29 is my carry , I would carry my 9c with my setup with no worries. The trigger is like my dads 1911. IMO they should come from the factory his way.
I would say this is a must buy for any M&P owner. I couldn't get the RAM because my gun has the ambi safety's -- so putting it on would require a bit of work , however -- after my range trip today I'm beyond happy with just the comp AEK. Best polymer trigger I've ever fired .
0 malfunctions , and zero "ad" double tape ... No reason after 200 rounds that I would be uncomfortable carrying it , and if I didn't own a G29 and underwood ammo wasn't around -- I would in a heartbeat. Here's a cool pic I took/made of my gun.
