The day that I never saw coming. This is a discussion on The day that I never saw coming. within the Non-XD Handguns forums, part of the Other Handgun Talk category; Thanks. Like I said; it's definitely smaller, but the pics make it seem a little large. Really, it's not too much bigger than my Sisters ...

Thanks. Like I said; it's definitely smaller, but the pics make it seem a little large. Really, it's not too much bigger than my Sisters M&P Shield. Which is saying a lot as the Shield is petty damn small.
I just ordered a Crossbreed for it.
Also, my XD-S is in route to my LGS. This is a great era of small/carry conscience pistols. I love it.
Oh, and for those wondering, it fits in a Tennessee Holster Co XDm holster very well. In fact, that's the holster I used for the pics.

Those 36s look like nice compact .45 autos. Let us know if the story is true that they pinch your fingers when you shoot them. Something about the gap between the grip and mag base. tom.

Congrats on new purchase!
I've been eyeing a G36 for a while, still trying to wait on the XDS, but the G36 fits my hands good. Wish I could shoot one before buying. I purchased a G22 a few weeks ago & don't really care for it all that much.

Nice! I missed my G36 a few months ago, and wanted a single stack .45 again, so I went looking for one. And stumbled on the XDS. I've paid for one and held out ever since March, but the G36 is a fine pistol! Enjoy it!

Resistance is Futile!
Congratulations! I live vicariously through you! Enjoy. This one is on my VERY short list after a Walther PPS.
There is no XDm anywhere that can compare to it's width. The XDs will be it's direct competitor.

Nice...isn't it?
You will be shocked at how controllable it is for a lightweight small 45....I know I was. Nothing like Dad's old Colt Officers Model. Accurate and reliable, too.
A good friend of mine has a G36 and I have borrowed it probably six times. I still don't know why I do not own one.

The G36 is actually a bit larger than the G26, but still a great gun. Congrats!
I just went from no Glocks to a G19 and a G34. Now eyeing the G26.
