Compared the competitors the Glock 30 in its class is thicker. I know they use that same frame for one of their 10mm pistols and that explains the thickness. However I think they need to address this issue and make it a tad bit slimmer before I'd consider buying. Otherwise your right it's a cool pistol.

It's thick because it was made to have a high-round count. The Glock 29(10mm) and Glock 30 are virtually identical in size, like you mentioned. I have yet to find any other manufacturer with a subcompact 45 that sports more than a 7-round capacity. The closest to it is the Sig P250, which is actually a Compact, and it's still only a 9+1, while the Glock 30 is a 10+1.
Also, most people who mention the thickness have never actually compared the Glock 30 to other comparable options, or even holstered it for themselves. I was very skeptical at first, but after actually handling it and many other models, I finally realized the extra thickness was moot when concealing it.

I had a Glock 30; I liked it quite a bit.
It carried comfortably in an IWB holster.
Accurate, easy to control, reliable...I'd recommend one to anybody.

Holding the Glock 30 next to the XDM compact 45 it seems the XDM is slimmer. I could be wrong but it sure felt and looked slimmer and has the sale magazine capacity?? 9+1 flush mount mag or 10+1 without??

I carry a G30 everyday all day. I don't have a problem with carrying it.
I also have a Gen 4 19. I like the feel of the Gen 4's better in my hand.

G30 is Subcompact, XDM 45 is a Compact, apples and oranges. The XD is 1.3" wide, the G30 is 1.27" wide, so pretty much the exact same width. The XD has a slightly longer barrel, and the grips are the same when the G30 has it's mag in place. XD is 9+1, G30 is 10+1. The differences are minute, but I give the edge to the G30.
EDIT: Also, both guns can accept the larger mags from their big brothers, both of which are 13+1.
