Let me guess... could not get the retaining pin to lock in and finally noticed you had it on safe the entire time with the hammer down instead of fully forward? Not saying I ever did that...no way!

LOL pretty much, put the mag in, pull the trigger, reassembly done D:

I had a Mark II for years and years and never once had a problem with that baby (in fact, I always wondered what others were complaining about), got a Mark III and yeeesh, mucho problems the first two times I tried to put it back together.

It's times like that where I suck because I'm so anal about cleaning firearms

I had a MK2 as well and never had a problem, but heard so many horror stories about the MK3 that when I went to get another target 22 I bought the buckmark instead. Must say that I do love the trigger on the buckmark and it's super accurate, but I loved my Rugers too.

You might want to check into the Speed Strip system for that pistol.

Easier take down and re-assembly.
