Terrible experience with a site sponser

Just have to vent. I figure if I name the site sponser, I will get the thread closed or be called a troll or barred from the site. I am still pi**ed off about my experience. I called a sponser who happens to be somewhat local to me today and asked their store hours. I was told they close at 6:00 today. I got to their store at 4:50, just as the owner and 3 others were leaving and locking the store up. I asked if they were closing and was told yes by the person closest to me, who appeared to be a worker from the shop. I told him about calling and had came to buy a pistol. He went over to the owner, who happened to be in his car by then and told him what I had said. I saw the owner shake his head no. He then proceded to drive past me and out of the parking lot. IMO, another 10 to 15 minutes shouldn't have mattered for a sale for them. Oh well, a lesson well learned. I will never buy anything from this guy, even if I do have to pay a little more elsewhere and will steer people away from him at every chance I get. Afterall there is more than one gunshop in Cincinnati.

UPDATE---Owner did contact me and apologize. He did offer to make it right if I came back. Maybe this was a learning experience for him.

Don't know who told you they close at 6:00 and they're leaving at 5:00, but I might cut them some slack given the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Could be a simple case of miscommunication and the owner was eager to get home for prior plans. It's hard to know the full story if he's in a hurry to get home and doesn't want/have time to talk.

Perfectly within your rights to not return, but I would cut some slack given the abnormal holiday circumstances.

I wouldn't cut them any slack at all, holiday weekend or not.
I'd be pissed as well if I called ahead and was told of a closing time only to find them leaving upon arrival..
Apparently they close at 5 and didn't honor that time either..

They obviously don't want your business..
As stated, I'd look elsewhere..

I'm with Lowlife they don't need my money if that's the way they. I have stopped dealing with turds like this for less.

I had a similar issue with this vendor as well. I do not live in Cincinnati but was in town on other business and went well out of my way to get to this store at 2:30 p.m. on a Friday, noting their website clearly states they are open until 5:00 p.m. but there is a sign on the door--Going to gun show. wtf. I have never been back.

Well I hope he makes a ton off his other business. Cause once the name comes out he should get used to NOT getting business from anyone on this site.

You are much more polite than me. If I had driven across town in an effort to buy from a Vendor after calling to confirm I was good on time to watch his taillights I would be banned shortly after my report. This is pure and simple proof of why some small business owners often get passed up for a large retail chain. Want me to spend my money local and support your shop? Honor your freakin POSTED hours. And don't get me started on people who take phone calls when I am Standing in front of them to do business there.

I've had a similar issue like this but it was with buying a new car. I had called the dealership and told them what time I would be there to put money down on a vehicle I had already looked at and wanted to buy. It was 30 minutes to close on a saturday night and no one wanted to help me, and just stared at me like a deer in headlights so I just left. Turns out they went out of business a few months later

went a little way across town and bought the same pistol from the biggest dealer in Cincy. Asked for a discount, because I happen to belong to their indoor range program and got the same price as the dealer who pissed me off was asking. bingo
