Opinion on gun order taking awhile to get.
So I went with a local dealer a friend recommended to me. I wanted the Sign P250 full size 9mm. He said he had just sold his last one he had the compact 9mm or he could order the full size for me.
I really wanted the full size so I gave him a down payment and told him to order it for me. He said it can take up to six weeks to come in but he has never actually seen it take that long.
It's been 4.5 weeks already and I've seen other places with it and seen it online for about the same I would be paying this dealer for it.
So my question is, has anyone ordered a gun that wasn't in and had to wait? If so how long did you have to wait? Then also do you guys think I should keep waiting or ask for my money back and get it elsewhere that has it now?

You've already waited 4.5 Weeks, I've never heard of an order taking that long but in any case you only have a week and a half left till the end of his turn time, ifs its not in by the 6the week then see if you can get your money back and place an order else where. My opinion.

The last gun I ordered the LGS called his suppler and checked if they had it. which they did. It was in my hands in less then 2 Weeks.

I dunno, I've had an XDS on order for a while......lol.
In all seriousness, I've had one on order (a glock) that took 8 weeks to come in. They (pistols) are taking longer and longer to come in.
I would call a place online, and ask if they have it IN HAND, ready to ship. If so, go talk to the LGS and just tell him. Keep in mind you'll have to pay shipping, and he will probably have an FFL fee ($25ish) and be done with it. I'm sure he can either cancel his order, or sell it almost as soon as it comes in if you don't buy it.

Thanks guys I'm going to give him another call tonight and see if he has any updates for me. If he doesn't I'm going to let him know that I've found it elsewhere and they have it in stock ect.

This is just me, but I think the P250 Compact handles better and is a little more accurate. It's easier to hold the front sight on-target with a shorter barrel.
That being said, the full-size is sexier and with practice, I'm sure that longer sight radius will make a difference.

According to most the LGS's around here it is taking them longer to get in their orders on every brand...

I would just wait it out. it's a happy sign of the times that firearms manufacturers are getting so much support.
its probably the only positive thing I can say for the economy.
I know it doesn't do you any good. when I have something coming I stare at it on a web page obsessively like a dog looking at sausage in the window of a butcher shop. lol

I know how you feel! When I order something, I check the tracking info on it about 20 times a day, hoping that it magically appears early! I ordered a Sig 2022 from Buds and waited 6 days for it to ship, then had to wait another 5 days for my FFL guy and I to find a time that worked out for the both of us. It sucked! But, he did wave the $20 transfer fee since it took so long, I just had to promise to order through him again! I say just wait the week, if its still not in, order it somewhere else.
