Well it seems the RI is something is should consider. Nothing but good things to read about it and I did t include it in the poll. I don't care if it's as wonderfull looking as the others just as long as its a good shooter. Hmm got me thinking...

I started out with a SA loaded and I still contend it is about the best thing going for the money. I eventually traded it for a Kimber which was a nice weapon but not worth the extra $$$. Finally I traded the Kimber for a Colt and never looked back.

I own both a Springfield and a Kimber 1911.
Both shoot very well and are totally reliable.
Pick which ever one fits your needs between the two and go for it.
I have HEARD bad things about Kimbers but the people I know that own them have not had any problems. So I rolled the dice on the TLE II and 3 years later, the thing keeps on shooting and is totally reliable and very accurate.

My Springfield TRP Operator is a finely tuned piece of sexy genius. Now I won't declare a very high round count yet (about 700 rds) but so far flawless and incredibly accurate. Did I mention it's a fricken good looking pistol too?

I want to buy a SA or Rock Island GI and when I can spare enough money, get the SA MC Operator. I do like how the Kimber Warrior looks and feels, so that may be an option too.

I'll try to dig em up tonight as trying to find it all and copy it over from my phone isn't happening. It was something like Kimber producing over 80k.
Edit: Quick search ... numbers from the 2010 atf report that recently came out.
Wilson - 2285
Colt - 29331
Kimber - 85991
Glock - 31395
Springfield - 16105
Just a small sampling but puts at least some of it in perspective

I have both a Springfield TRP and a Sig Two Tone Traditional. Love them both and they are both very accurate.
The TRP is slightly more accurate, the Sig is prettier.
