Jennings guns
Anyone own a Jennings or similar "Saturday Night Special" guns? There's a Jennings Model 48 with the chrome finish on Armslist for $150. Way overpriced, but I've been thinking about making an offer on it. Not too interested in shooting it, I just want a ring of fire gun :P
So what do you think of these guns?

Don't waste your money. Well it might come in handy one day if you file the serial numbers off, and plant it on a body, if you accidentally plug someone. Ive been thinking of getting one just in case. jk, maybe.

Haha thanks for the laugh. From what I read it can also be used as a hand grenade. Throw it at the BG and send shrapnel in every direction.

Well, just grind the serial numbers off. If you ever end up with a dead guy on your lawn, or living room, just wipe the gun down and plant it in the right hand. Also you want to keep a little baggy of crack so you can put it in their pocket.

Proper tool for working on a Jennings would be a $3.00 hacksaw. Pot metal doesn't require a better hacksaw.

I owned a Davis 32 way back that actually worked pretty well. Honestly though if your looking for a cheap pistol to have I'd go with a Hi-Point.

And if they happen to be left handed, you are screwed!
Not to mention posting stuff like this on a public board

I have a J-22 which I inherited.
Read some pretty horrible reviews about them which proved true to a certain degree once I took it to the range a couple of times.
Had quite a few misfires and FTF/FTEs.
Plus, I wouldn't rely on their accuracy outside of 10 feet.
They were mass produced in such quantity to keep the price down (around $70-$80 back in the day, I think), the machining was just sloppy and bad.
Ok for plinking, but I wouldn't pay more than $20 for one.

I've got a .380 that was fired at a range outing about 20 years ago.
I'm thinking about filling the barrel with lead and JB-Welding the slide to the frame for use as a paperweight.

If I was going to pay over $100 I'd definitely go for something else, but I was thinking I might throw a $50 offer at the guy and see what he says.
I remember talking to him a while ago. He seems to think his gun is worth top dollar because of it's condition. $50 is top dollar... lol
