just could wait for the shield
I just couldn't wait on the shield to be in stock anywhere near me. So I traded my Taurus PT709 Slim 2tone for a Kahr CW9. The shield must be a really incredible gun cause I don't think I could be happier with the trade. I love the Kahr. Shoots smooth, accuate and looks great. Anyhow I think I can save enough to buy the Shield by the time they are easier to find.

I'm trying to locate a Shield right now in NC... on the list at 6 or so gun shops. At one shop I'm 15th on the list haha. I drug my feet yesterday and missed out on a .40 Shield, kinda kicking myself but I think I'd rather have a 9mm. Anyway, enjoy your new pistol I know the difficulty finding a Shield first hand.

Now that you own a Kahr, I believe you have to immediately start hating the Shield.

There seems to be a bunch of new members on the S&W Forum that used to be Kahr owners.
Having never owned a Kahr, I have no idea if it's simply because the Shield is the flavor of the week, or if they truly like the Shield that much more.
Here's hoping you stay happy with yours.

For me it was crappy long trigger and unreliability of being a Taurus semi-auto....
Congrats on your Kahr jeichstadt.
Quite a step up from the 709.
I sold my PM9 to to my Dad, he loves it.
And welcome to the forum..

They're both great pistols, they just have different styles of trigger. Pre-cocked, striker-fired light double action or a single action striker-fired; pick your poison. There's no losing bet, just pick what you prefer and you'll be well served.
