M&p 22 not a good day

Took my new m&p 22 to thke range today and not to happy. Every mag had 2 to 3 ftf or fte . Only used one type of ammo federal so not sure if it is the ammo or gun . Took it home cleaned it and it had some brass shavings in it. I loaded the mag full to break in the mag spring and will try diff ammo over memorial day weekend . If it doesnt work right will be calling s&w.

+1 CCI Mini Mags work wonders in picky .22s. Great ammo!

My P22 has problems with the federal but the CCI standards work like a champ.

It is the ammo... I have the EXACT same gun and it does the same thing on Federal... Winchestor White box is even worse - you can expect 6 out of 12 to fail to feed.

Try CCI Mini Mags 40 Gr. They WILL feed 100%. Okay, so $7 for 100 of 22lr is too much money! Buy the 500 pack of Blazer for about $15 although they are not copper plated, they are coated, so they won't lead your barrel, and they are 100% reliable too (Blazer = CCI).

The very best:

Buy these and you will have 100% feeding for cheap!

Second Best:

Will have 2 to 3 failures per mag:

You will be manually racking your slide about 6 times per mag to eject or feed:

CCI for the win. +1 for blazers, best bulk on the market hands down.

I've shot thousands of Federal through my M&P 15-22, but its the ones in the blue box. I get them in 525rd boxes. Although to be honest I don't think I've had problems with any of the ammo I've tried in my 15-22.

Edit: I noticed this picture makes it look like they are plain led bullets but the ones I've been shooting are copper plated.

Good info guys, THANKS. I am looking to get a 22. Trying to decide on the 15-22 or the Ruger 10/22. I may end up getting both. If I do that, which one first? Damn this never ends!!!

This is why I always tell people that are looking for a 22 auto pistol to get a Ruger 22-45 or MkIII.

My 10 year old 22-45 eats ALL that ammo you guys posted above...all the time.
