I have a SR-22 and two Mark IIIs, which is the same as the 22/45 internally, only my Marks have metal lowers with slightly different grip angles versus the polymer of the 22/45. They use the same magazines with different base plates.

Which one to get all depends on what you want to do with the gun. If you are looking for one that will last forever...easy, get the 22/45. If you want a small gun to carry for close-range shooting, get the SR-22. If you want to have the smallest groups, get the 22/45. If you want the one with the best trigger, HANDS-DOWN, get the 22/45. If you want one that is customizable, get the 22/45 as the modification aftermarket parts are endless, making it possible for you to assemble a gun solely by purchasing aftermarket parts.

I can walk into any gun shop in my area and buy magazines for the SR-22. However, I can walk into those same stores and buy oodles of parts for the 22/45; magazines, sights, grips, sear, trigger, springs, etc.

If I had to go down to only one .22lr, it would no doubt be the Mark III.

Arrow I want both.

I'm still gonna get a MK2 or 3 or 22/45 some time down the road. Just bought the SR22, and LOVE it. Both are great guns, for just a target pistol, I'd get the 22/45 though. If you plan on using it for a practice gun similar to your CC piece, the SR22 is the way to go. Can't go wrong either way.

Targets...Forever...definitely the Mark III or 22/45 series.

Someone, I think on this board, uses their Mark for instruction/training and has over 120,000 rounds through it. A normal user will never go through that in a lifetime. I thought the 20,000+ on my older Mark III was a lot...
