PPQ - Solid engineering

What a piece of engineering! I own a M&P Shield, M&P 9 fullsize, Glock 36, and have fired both XDs and XDMs but none of these are in the same class as Walther's PPQ. The trigger is phenomenally friendly to the shooter and allows for extreme user accuracy.

My first experience with the PPQ, yesterday 5/04, had me knowing I made the right purchase. I've read numerous accounts of increased muzzle flip but for me personally there was nothing concerning about it...hell its a handgun.

I have nothing I can personally bash about the PPQ. No complaints here...Walther has another happy customer!

Took some pics after cleaning and I've got my range targets up:

25 yds:

Heres a couple pics of my shield next to PPQ for size comparison:

As said earlier, I have a stiffy for this trigger and I have not even bought one "yet".This is what a trigger should feel like NIB!!

Thanks for the range report. I just need to work on the better half a little bit longer

Since posting I have installed the large handgrip for a better feel. Althrough its not difficult, the only gripe is that a .15 (4mm) punch is required to exchange the handgrips...can't simply change 'em on the fly.

Looking to start using this in IDPA matches and now its time to start looking for a holster for it.

I've handled one too. That trigger is fantastic.

I'm really liking this gun, just don't know if I justify another 9mm purchase.

I like the grips on the Walther. Can't find them in many of the LGS's around here, but have seen them on the net in the $500 range. Seems like a good gun.

Maybe you should give us a video tutorial of how you are reaching the mag. release without changing your grip on the gun. I have large hands and still not able to reach it, and using the index finger on the right side seems just down right not safe.

This was my only complaint. Normal mag release, and I'm in. However, the PPS has a better fit that I can reach it, so it is now on a short list.

With the large handgrip I cannot shift the pistol around enough to use my thumb to activate the mag release lever. I've practiced quite a bit using the my middle finger to to slide the lever down and, for me, that seems to be the most effective in terms of speed and consistency.

Practice practice practice to form that muscle memory.

Not only is the trigger on the PPQ really nice, but it seemed to have a very positive and easy to feel reset....much like the Glock.

This is really the worst strike against the M&P - its almost non-existent feeling trigger re-set.

I like the PPQ and have a feeling that I will wind up with one someday. They're very nice guns at a very good price.

The only thing the PPQ is missing is more support from holster makers. The pistol is about as close to perfect for a striker-fired pistol as one can get. I love mine and would carry it if I had a holster that fit.
