should I do it?

I am considering trading my xdm 45 compact 3.8 and all S'field gear for an MP9c, 3 mags (1 is 17 rd), Ameriglo night sights, RAM trigger job and DCAK?? trigger job, 2 holsters.
I'm not displeased with the xdm at all, but .45 ammo ain't cheap and when my oldest turns 21 I plan on giving her one of my guns and the MP9c is a fine weapon. I already have one MP9c that the wife carries. So, until my daughter's birthday in Sept I'd be carrying either the new MP9c or the CZ 75 Compact. This would also put all my guns in 9mm.
My trade value is approx $625 and his pistol plus the extras amount close to that.
Need clear opinions soon....this may happen by Friday.

Generally if you have to ask if a trade is a good deal it's wise to walk away from it.

Having said that the M&P is a great pistol and will probably be my next purchase.

Not sure that we can really answer this question. Both are great guns, so it depends on your situation and what works best for you.

I love my M&P hard to beat I like the XDm but I traded my XDm 357sig. for my S&W and have not looked back. But I do have a XD 9 also but S&W just feels great in my hand.

I had a M&P 9C and sold it, didn't like the trigger. Bought a SR9C and simply love it. Very accurate and reliable.

Personally I would keep the 45 and add another one to the family.

That's a hard call to make because both are great guns IMO. I wouldn't get rid of my XDm .45 3.8" beacuse it's one of my favorites, but i feel your pain in ammo prices. I try & save for S&W 9mm compact & keep my .45. But hey that's me!

I would make that trade in a heartbeat! The XDm is a great gun but I prefer the M&P platform hands down.

We've agreed to the swap, but it'll be Monday at the earliest before we can do it since we're about 2hrs apart and were gonna meet halfway. If local deals become possible we've also agreed to do those with no hurt feelings or bad feedback.
