Got my M&P Sheild!!!
Well I was waiting outside Sportsmans this morning when they opened. Recieved an inside tip that they were getting a shipment today. After waiting about an 1-1/2hr for them to check in the truck, I got my Sheild! The guy said they ordered 20 & recieved 2. I did not get a chance to go & shoot it today which stinks, becaused I promised the wife I'd do some work in the flower beds after I got back. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to go to the range & try her out. I took a couple of pics & tried to take a few comparing it to my wife's LC9. I'm excited to get my hands on the Sheild & hope she shoots as good as she looks!

Thanks for the replies guys.
I hope to get to the range tomorrow if possible & will post a report.
I'm anxious to see how it compares to wifes LC9, I don't care for the trigger all that much on the LC9.

Hey - congrats on finding one!
I shot mine for the first time on Saturday, I've never shot a pistol with a sight radius < 4.5" so there's a learning curve for me re: accuracy . But it handled really well, I was shocked at how manageable the recoil was.
One thing I noticed was that I had to be strict about racking the slide all the forward or it wouldn't feed well, also had to be precise with inserting the magazine (had to give it a strong push) -- was smooth as silk after that.
Really fun to try out a new form factor and it fits my hand great!
Looking forward to your range report!

What does "racking the slide all the forward" mean?? I don't understand.

normal sling shot of the slide does not work? Gun does not go into battery on its own? If not, might want to get it checked. Should never have to push a slide forward to battery.

The LGS here has one, that's right, one, of the M&P Shield in 9mm on the shelf (or at least did on Friday). I stopped in to fondle it and there is a never ending stream of people passing through asking about it (might have to bring some hand sanitizer next time). I had him pull out all the 9mm single stacks that he had in the case and he had 3. Of the three, the Shield had the best feeling grip and the safety was in a good position for my hand (one had no safety, the other safety was not easy to manipulate).
I had an issue at Menards this weekend where my coat was pulling up while lifting things into the cart and it would catch on the handle of the XDM under my shirt, leaving the bottom of the coat hitched up. It would be nice to have something easier to conceal.
If it's still on the shelf today after work, then maybe it was meant to be mine...
