A few months ago I picked up my XD40sc for $300 used, are sc's not as valuable as full frame? Anyway I am happy because I took it to Cabela's to see what they would pay, they said $300. So at least if I had to get rid of it I will break even.

If it came as a "full frame" it wouldn't be an SC anymore right?

Correct, sub compacts have short grips and barrels.
My questions is whether sc's are for some reason "worth" less or less desirable than the full frame, tactical's or compact's.

Nope, slide the full size mag in and the SC will do everything the 4inch Service size will do. Most SC owners ( myself included ) are pleasantly surprised how accurate the SC is. I PERSONALLY would not even bother with a Service size, get an SC or Tactical.
