It's not odd in my opinion...it's a good compromise between 9 and .45 if you're only getting one pistol. But after I got the other 2, I realized I didn't need (or particularly like) the .40. I'm not calling it odd, just odd for me. We'll see if the .40 guys get butt-hurt though...

no problem with your ref of 'odd' not meaning literally 'odd'...i just saw the opening to spin 'em not that you wanted in on that too!...i'm just kidding and do like just fffg w/people - hope i'm not THAT antagonizing? i do like the male ego though...so, frail "oh, yeah, well my dad can beat up your dad!" ford-chevy, less filling-taste great, etc.
personal note: i HATE a .40 cal for killiing the 10 mm is my point of ref on a 40!(fyi, you're new and i've said this before on here...maybe a million-5 times)

GREAT reference! I've never see it on a forum yet (then again, I'm fairly new). 10 points awarded for vocabulary and a +1 for spelling correctly and a +2 for proper referencing. Carry on....
Just noticed you're from "middle GA". I might actually be heading your way this coming weekend. Got a 6.8 SPC rifle shoot in Macon. How's THAT for an "odd" caliber getanxd???

No, not a Glock. Think AR-15 meets .270...
It's an AR-15 that is chambered for the 6.8 SPC round which is a .30 Remington cut down to be the length of a standard 5.56 that shoots light .270 caliber bullets. .270 light...more killin' than a 5.56, less kick than the .270. Was invented by 5th group SF to replace the 5.56, but Remington messed up the specs. Now there is a SPC II chamber that is what was intended. Don't think the military will adopt it (although they should), but it's a great hog/deer/medium game round and fun as hell to shoot out of the AR-15.
I'm a member of the 68forum as well. If curious, you should check it out.

I'm a little disappointed in a few of you guys here that I have grown to respect and appreciate your opinions and suggestions. I expect more from you all. The OP did not bash Glock other than stating it is ugly and that's a matter of opinion anyways. He was merely stating the fact that it bothers him that there are Glock fanboys that are so stuck on Glock that they put everything else down and I agree with him that those people are pretty lame. I am not sure why a few of you got so worked up over it. I expected better from my XDtalk friends and advisers

all that sounds like great fun w/the ARs and diff rounds/loads/cal...i'm not too smart...well, i prob should just leave it as that - "im not too smart," but i'm not too smart on ARs - i'm sure i'd love 'em, but all i got is a mod 70 WSM 7mm deer rifle and my dad's 98K Mauser he brought back from Germany...love shooting them, but a 6.8...wow, i'm clueless - enjoy Macon. go to the Alman bros 'Big House' before you leave.
i've prob posted enough entries into this thread for all. hope my jokes did not offend. [a glock rifle!]

Range report is up. I didn't hate the Glock, but didn't love it either. I can understand the complaints about the ergonomics, but if it's as durable as it's given credit for, I can see why it's popular.
