The more I look at it, the more I agree with you. It just doesn't feel "right" to me. I work with customer service and repairs (RV Technician) and I would NOT let something like that go... How could they?! I mean, the guy who changed the barrel out said to himself, "Oh, it's just a little longer and looks ridiculous... But that's okay."

Find a picture of what you expect for the crown, there are lots of degrees etc. I really like these two.

Send it to them for a reference while you explain you are not happy at all.

Why stick a 4.25 inch barrel where a 4 inch barrel was?

I think they will just fit it w/ a new barrel. Asking for custom crowning for free probably not the way to go about it. But, mention a recrown on the phone, maybe they will agree to that?

Good point, just show them your before and after pictures, and tell them you don't like the extended barrel length, maybe they will address it with a crown.

You aren't getting anything for free! You're just exercising your warranty rights. I'd send the slide back, along with the barrel, unless they insisted that you send the entire pistol. If you just send the slide and barrel, you can send them in one box, USPS, Priority Mail, Insured for not much $$.

So... Just to serve as a quick update. I called and spoke with Penne[sic] and she emailed me a fedex label. I asked her about just sending the slide and she said she wanted me to send the whole gun. So that's what i did. It's officially on it's way back to SA, and hopefully they'll get it right this time. On the note to the tech, I just identified that the newly installed sight was extremely dim and that the newly installed barrel is too long and that I would like it flush like the original. We'll see what happens.
