Glock 19 discharged by holster

I don't know about you guys but my wife would have had a conniption. She knows I carry but for her it's a out of sight out of mind kind of thing.

This was a recent thread but I agree with you on the wife situation. I know I catch flack for it - but I don't carry with a round chambered, I don't care what you say - not worth it for me. I'm sure this guy was a 'the best safety is between your ears' kind of guy.

Another reason why I carry an XDM and not a Glock, I like redundant safeties.

That played out well, he's lucky a kid wasn't getting in the truck when it happened.

Crazy. A good tip to all. For me, when I lived in a state (MI) that allowed CC, I always removed the holster when I needed to re-holster the gun. If the gun was out for some reason, I took the time to remove the rig, holster the gun, then put the holster back in my pants. This was my nightmare.

Look at how the holster is worn...that didn't suddenly happen.

This is what happens when you don't inspect your gear.

I'll chalk this one up to user error (like pretty much all of 'em).

This could NOT have happened with the same make holster and an XD pistol. That is why I don't own a glock. Thank god for the XD grip safety.

I've always been leery of the Glock trigger only safety setup; it may be convenient for some for concealed carry, but I'll stick with the Springfield safety.

Yep, blame the pistol because the holster was worn and faulty...that's smart.

Wow I was so close on closing a deal on a glock19...
Dude this is not acceptable I know that it's probably the owners/holster's fault but c'mon! Would not have happened to any other guns I own!
They are all either DA/SA or have grip safety (xds and 1911s)

A kydex holster might have reduced the chance of this happening. As to this wouldn't happen to an XD, possibly true if you are very conscious about putting your thumb on the back of the slide when holstering to prevent engagement of the grip safety. In this particular circumstance the grip safety might have prevented the accident but that worn holster was an accident waiting to happen.
