The gun did go off due to no mechanical safety mechanism, correct?

I'm sure he posted 100 times on Glock Talk how a safety isn't necessary if you keep your finger off the trigger.

I get what your saying, and I don't see any blame here. Only your preference for extra safety mechanisms.
Some people just want the whole world to own only Glocks and can't stand it when someone supports something else.

The gun went off due to a faulty holster...even more, the gun went off because of a complacent owner who didn't replace his gear when it got worn. With the holster as out of shape as it was, I'm surprised that it didn't happen sooner.

The mechanical safety on the Glock worked as designed--it was deactivated when the trigger was pressed. There was no failure.

If you're not smart enough to check your holster mouth before holstering, and if you're not capable of keeping your gear in shape/replacing it when it gets worn, perhaps you shouldn't be carrying a pistol of any make or model.

You do realize that the worn holster was the most likely culprit...right?

You also realize that a number of pistols with no grip safety could have had similar NDs...right?

Grip safety might have stopped this, but that ratty holster was an accident waiting to happen.

I have to side with the people who say it isn't the GLOCK's fault. If you are going to be a responcible gun toter, inspect your equipment!!!

Not sure how anyone can blame the gun. The guy pulled the trigger whether he meant to or not.

All I have to say is this guy is very lucky! He could have killed someone. There is no way he can say he never noticed the wear on it before, and he still chose to continue using it.

I for one never have blamed the gun. The gun fired because the trigger was pulled, that's what it is supposed to do. My only argument is that to me, the Glock is too simple - which led me to my choice, XDM. Grip safety may or may not have prevented this, but I'd say it would greatly reduce the chances.

Just another exhibition of Glock Leg.

If you watch the way most people handle their guns, a grip safety wouldn't have prevented this at all. Most people go from a "combat ready" grip to the holster without a grip transition. Does anyone believe that a guy who will let his gear get this worn and still use it would practice a transition so not to depress a grip safety? This guy got complacent and this is the end result.
