He fellas, I have an xd service model 40, love it! Trust it with my life, my wife is getting into shooting and going to the range with one gun and two people is boring! I want to shot the whole duration I'm there. Not to mention buying .40 cal is kinda expensive every trip we take we put down 200-300rds. I would like to get her something inexpensive in 9mm just for target practice, we have the xd for home invasion. Do anybody have personal experience with this gun that can give me good feed back. The particular model I'm looking at is in the picture below.

Thanks

In my personal experience the Hi Point is the worst pistol I have ever owned. I would never buy another one.

Thanks for your opinion but as I said I want something inexpensive that's for "target shooting" only.

The one I owned was unreliable. It malfunctioned a lot, e.g. failure to feed, failure to eject, etc. I teach concealed carry classes and many of the Hi Points that my students have brought to the range have had similar problems. Maybe this is just coincidence, and I certainly allow for the fact that others may have never had any problems with the Hi Point. Personally, I wouldn't stake my life on one.

They are crap. I have shot one and I was afraid it was going to break. If you love your wife spend a little extra and buy her an XD9. It makes the most sense to have her practice with the same platform she would be shooting if she were ever in a defensive situation. Heck she would have her XD9 for that...
