EVERY time?

Even my Glock won't operate 100% of the time.

Both my 9mm and 380 were pieces of crap. Polished feed ramps, magazine mods, cleaned and lubed very well, still pieces of crap! My 9mm carbine on the other hand is awesome and shoots great. eats all kind of ammo. Both had fte's like crazy, I even sent one back and whe it arrived it had the same problem.

I have heard this before. I'm actually thinking of purchasing a carbine from them. Half the price of KelTec

Those guys in the torture test videos were awesome... never saw them before.

Honestly, you gotta wonder why they made the Hi-Point so hideous. I just learned that it's a fixed barrel (never took one down) so that may have something to do with it.

Also, I agree... I'd rather have the ugly duckling than nada.

If I had one, I'd make sure that I never even remotely entertain the possibility of having to count on it, i.e. BUG for my BUG... haha

Never owned a Hi point, but fired my dads a few times. Didnt seem to bad, but IMO buy her the gun that fits her hand and feels comfortable to her, not just whats cheap.

I bought a 9mm carbine today off another a club member. It had never been shot. He had issues loading hollow points and just stuck at the back of the safe. So I paid him what he paid $200.00. I loaded FMJs and had one issue out of 100 rounds. And it IS accurate.

Big, ugly, cheaply made. All true
Accurate? YES!
Worth $200.00? YES

I got to shoot a .40S&W Hi-Point today. It shot fine and very little recoil, but I attribute that to how heavy the thing is. It also seems to be designed for Andre the Giant because it has a grip I could barely get my hands around. Still, very simple to operate, has a thumb safety positioned in an easy to reach location. It had a bit of a long trigger pull, but seemed fairly light (especially after shooting the SCCY with its 9lb trigger for each shot).

When you empty the magazine the slide locks open, but when you put a new magazine in you have to rack the slide to get it to chamber the next round. Although it seemed like if I had slammed it in, it might release the slide automatically.

It was interesting to shoot and I'm glad I got a chance to. I'd been considering a Hi-Point as a truck gun but I may just keep considering it now.
