For Glock it's the G22 Gen 4 and G27.
For S&W it's the M&P 40 full size and compact

ATF only received proposals from Glock, S&W, and Sig, so those were the only ones that were tested.

Sig's rejection:
U.S. GAO - B-402339.3, Sig Sauer, Inc., July 23, 2010

"...reliability of Sig Sauer's handguns was a major concern, given that Sig Sauer's full and compact models experienced a total of 13 gun-induced stoppages and 45 shooter-induced stoppages during the phase II testing. It was determined that "the significant number of malfunctions was . . . unacceptable.""

I tried a Glock and I will never buy one just because its so populair.
I personally like the M&P more than the Glock. Better ergonomics, better looks, just as good quality and just as reliable.

Way to go, M&P!

Are more and more government agencies going to the .40S&W now? Wonder why...?

That would be a bribe to keep the dollar going out instead of in.

You are aware that the XD is made in Croatia, right? So, even if the XD had up for consideration, that would've been money going to buy foreign goods...

As to steep discounts...that's always been the way in gov't contracts. Do you think Glock & S&W are losing money on this deal?
