I picked up a Taurus Millennium 9mm today for $200, 13rds through it (I went with the original owner to buy it 3 months ago) This is not a common price to find Im sure but I wanted to add that I have heard bad about Taurus in the past and When I finally shot one I actually like it a lot (don't love the trigger)

You should be able to find the Polish P-64 (9x18mm Makarov); the CZ-52, the CZ-70 and the CZ-82; the Tokarev TT-33 (Romanian, Russian, Bulgarian) 7.62x25 pistols all for at or under $200. These are all Iron Curtain military and/or police issued weapons.
I have two of the P-64s, and a Romanian Cugir TT-33. I expect I'll be picking up one of the above-mentioned CZs at some point in the not distant future.

and we found our forums elitist.
p63 IMO is a much more pleasant gun thena p64, I got mine stipled to manage the recoil but to stay in the price range, grip tape on a p63 makes a fine carry gun albiet a smallish caliber (its what I have on at the moment)
CZ82s never seen one under 200, I was going to put them in the 230-250 range if you found one under 200 that would be an awesome way to go in all honesty.
under 100 craigslist deals. I have 2 1 blackpowder rifle. (omega) and at 100 303 enfield Mk IV. It had the sights removed, and a cheap tasco scope installed, works fine. Also Mosin Nagants are a good pic. I don't know of any handguns that are safe under 100. You might find a 22LR revolver walking around a gun show or something though, or a 70s 38 snubbie. Seen both one time each.
under 200 jmichna got that add in the p63 and you have a list.
Under 300 things get interesting. A while ago you could get sig P6 which I would have said wins (now they are about 330) cz82s used sigmas and such Most under 300 will have a heavy trigger but you choose the right brand it will work great.
Under 400 used glock/xd/maybe a plastic used sig.A lot of 38 revolvers. RIA 1911s
Under 500 you can find a whole lot of anything you want categorically speaking anyways. used 1911s if you look around/new ria tacs used sa 1911s.if you are LEO a glock/MP

IMO you have several options in the $175-$300 range that are solid handguns that can be called very good bargins. There are a lot of great used bargins out there if you take the time to look and know where to look.
Here are a few
Maybe the best pistol bargin going today at any price is the CZ82. CZ quality and its a C&R gun to boot! You can find them even retail for less than $250.
Polish P64 (now a C&R also) I purchased this one for $175 with C&R FFL.
RIA 1911's are a solid basic 1911 platform for the money. I purchased this one used for $300 in mint condition.
Any of the Bersa/Firestorm handguns are great values. Not as refined as most of the hi-end handguns but they function reliably and are tough solid guns. I found this one lightly used for $235.

Now in the case of their 995TS carbine? Awesome! $285 out the door and I can't feed it enough! It's eating me out of house and home. LOL
|
my 995 nocked off its front sight.... put it back and I will try it tomorrow hoping when I totally took it down and cleaned it I didn't tightern those set screws in far enough... if not loctite I guess. gun is actually fairly pleasant and accurate, got mine for 100 bucks with a lil rust on it.

Do they have to be all handguns? If I had the $100 bills for each category today, and had no guns at all, this is what I would probably buy.
$100 Mosin Nagant
$200 Marlin XT22
$300 Ruger Mark III or SR22 Pistol
$400 Probably have to be some used handgun in 9mm...Not sure what falls here new as most quality starts at $500...I skip $400 until I find a good used item. Maybe I score a used Glock eventually.
$500 Walther PPQ
That's the list. This with the assumption I have no guns, though, and I want to get the best bang for the buck to increase practice.

This isn't a bad list. In the $400 range i would be looking at the SigPro SP2022 in either 9 or .40.

0-$100 buy a tazer or a rock with a bullet glued to it
100-$200 Hi-Point or a used something or other
$200-300 Kel-tec PF9, Ruger P95, EAA EZ9 or S&W Sigma
$300-400 Ruger SR9, Bersa Thunder Pro, Stoeger Cougar, Sig P250 or Sig Pro 2022
$400-500 Springfield XD, S&W MP, Gen 3 Glock, Beretta PX4, FNH FNP
$500-600 Springfield XDM, Gen 4 Glock, FNH FNX, CZ 75B/P01, Walther PPQ
There you have it. No Taurus guns listed for a reason, buy those at your own risk.
