So my fiancee was out of town for a week. I decided I'd clean the house top to bottom as a welcome home surprise. When it came time to vacuum, I couldn't figure out how to use her $$$$ Miele canister vac. I decided to run to the pawn shop around the corner to find a regular vacuum cleaner. I asked the guy behind the counter what he had for around 20 bucks. He said he thought he had something in the back; He said he'd gotten some pistols in and said to go have a look while I waited.
I looked around and saw just about every kind of modern .40 made. I asked him what he had in 9mm (work pays for 9) and he said he had a "new sigma" on hold, but the guy hadn't come back for it. I said I wasn't really interested in Sigma's. He said, well, I need to put it back out anyway and he set the case on the counter behind him.
We finished up with the vacuum cleaner (got an Oreck for 20 bucks) and as I was about to leave he opened up the case and pulled out an M&P. I turned back around and asked him to let me take a look at it after all. He said "I'll give you a good deal on it. I cant stand the trigger on these things; it's got all of the accessories and extra magazines").
He handed me the m&p and there was no discernible wear on the barrel lug. The magazine well was almost without a scratch and the factory finish was still mostly intact on the breech face.
I asked how much and he said "400 out the door". I asked "What does it come with?" He handed me the case. There were 4 magazines and an Insight WX-150 in it.
I said "My fiancee's gonna kill me...", whipped out the debit card and walked out with the most expensive vacuum cleaner I've ever purchased.
