Ankle carried for the first time. LCR holster review inside.

Well I carried my LCR for the first time today on my ankle. I have never carried any gun in this way. I have to say it really wasnt bad. I read reviews of people talking about how horrible it was, but it was not that way for me.

I bought a DeSantis Apache ankle rig. It holds the gun very well. It has a strap that goes over the gun to help hold it in, but honestly I dont think it needs it. I am an automotive tech so I was standing up and walking around all day today. After a few hours, I really couldnt even tell it was on any more.

Here are some pics of the holster. I do recommend this holster to anyone looking for a good ankle holster that doesnt cost much.

Excuse the dirty couch

One thing. Make sure you wear tall socks. This probably goes for any ankle holster. When I was practicing drawing the gun, I would grab the hair on my leg if I didnt have tall socks on.

I carry a 442 sometimes in a Fobus ankle holster its the most comfortable ankle rig for me. I can have it on all day doesnt bother me. but drawing can be tough.

Why thank you

I also forgot to put that I did not order the calf strap. I wear boots at work and did not need the strap at all. The holster never moved on me. However, when wearing it on Sunday night around the house in tennis shoes, it did. So if you are going to wear tennis shoes or dress shoes, you might want to order the strap to hold it up a bit.

I'd want a thumb break.

This is my only real complaint with the holster. I too would have rathered a thumb break to the strap they put on.
