Ruger LCR?

I like the idea of the LCR is .38 +p but can't find one in town. Does anyone have one or shot one? I've read some reviews that doubt the longevity of the gun with a polymer frame firing +p ammo ( where have I heard that before??? )

I have one and like it a lot. Most snubbies are carried a lot and shot a little, longevity is not much of an issue. I just shoot my hand loads, not +P in mine.

love my LCR!! as XDdriver mentioned, it ain't exactly a shoot-all-day kind of gun...

and unless you've got pretty deep pockets, or are just into punishing yourself, you probably won't be practicing with +P ammo anyway...

so I guess it just depends on how many actual bad guys you plan on shooting with it...

I say go for it...it's a great little gun.

+1 - I love my LCR.

Of the guns I have bought, the LCR probably exceeded my expectations more than any other gun. I think it is much easier to shoot accurately vs. a S&W due to the better trigger. I have used .38 and .38 +P in mine without any issues. However, longevity does not concern me, based on past experience, Ruger will stand behind their products as long as you own it.

+1 for the Ruger LCR. Best out of the box trigger on any .38 Special snubby, bar none. And I wouldn't be too concerned about longevity--they used to say similar things about polymer-framed semiautos...

They do have a nice double-action pull, but that's about all I can say about them.

The trigger is way better on the LCR. I have a Smith 642 and I recently got to fire an LCR and it was much easier to shoot.

Thanks everyone for your input, it seems like a nice snubbie. I just wanted to get some help with the decision. Now I just have to decide if I should order one with the standard grips or wait a little while and get the CT grips.

If there's any way you can manage it financially, go with the Crimson Trace grips. Lasers just make sense on small guns like these, and make accuracy much easier.
