Century has a pretty spotty history....but I don't know anything about their Garands. The one thing I do know about Century, is make sure you can handle and inspect the weapon in person before you buy one. If your looking for a good Garand, why not get one from the Civilian Marksmanship Program?

yes I did get to handle it pretty heavy duty gun but I did not know really what to look for in a Garand

I was thinking of ordering from CMP but it just seem like such a PITA to order it plus I dont want to have to wait for it after dropping $500+ on a Rifle

You could make a road trip to the CMP. You can pick out your own rifle then. I am thinking about doing this.

It's not the quickest way to pick up a rifle from CMP but you will know that what you have is a working rifle

And the gun is certified by the Anniston armorers. It was definitely worth the wait for my Springfield....100 days exactly.

There is more value in a CMP gun.

C'mon folks.

I know Century is known for their sh***y products, but I think you all forget they are the largest firearms importer in the USA.

The majority of firearms imported by CAI are only fondled by the monkeys to check their serial numbers as they're logged in and when they're checked out for shipping.

Pass on it, CAI recievers are usually out of spec. Do a interenet search.
How much of a PITA is it to get a Garand that has customer service behind it and you know that you will get a good USGI functioning rifle? Do yourself a favor and get a CMP Garand

I had one. I bought it off gunbroker. The guy that owned it before me didn't have the gas piston inline with the hole on the barrel and it wouldn't eject the cartage. The rear sight was very loose and wouldn't keep a zero, it also had loading problems, i'd have to jiggle the bolt to get it to load the first round.
I sold it at a gun show. I felt like a real chode when the WWII vets asked me what kind it was...
"Century" i'd say.
"Oh." was their response.

Don't expect a lot of resale value out of it either.

Remember, my opinion and $3 will be able to buy coffee.
