I am trying to change out the rear sights. What tool do I need to remove the screw? Nothing I have will turn it.

Which M&P, the revolver or the semi auto? If it's the revolver you can purchase the tool at Brownells.

Semi auto... It has a small screw that's holding it in.

The rear sight is very easy. Unscrew the hex that is holding it down, put it in a vice, then use your punch and hammer to drift it out. Be careful because the plunger/spring assembly is under the sight and will pop out if you are not careful (you NEED those parts

). The screw is pretty easy, but they did put some loctite on it.

Now the front sight is a different story, I had to cut the front sight off w/ a dremmel.

A 1/16" allen wrench, fits nice and snug.

Hi guys.

it took three different 1 / 16 th allen wrenchs before the fourth one worked. Either too loose, or wouldn't fit inside, but once I got the right one the rear sight on my M&P9sc took about thirty seconds to change!

The front sight took a little work - due to the cheap table vice I was using. Actually I am still not quite happy with the front bead. It's just a hair off of centering where my mark is located.

I will go shoot tomorrow to see if it makes a whole lot of difference with the Novak trijium sights and POI...
