Help me decide.

There is a gun show coming up the weekend after next. I was going to pickup a M44 and another crate of 7.62x54R. However I got the latest add from my Favorite supplier yesterday and they raised the price to $79!

So Help me out guys. I'll have about $150 I can spend (yeah I know crazy budget).

So my choices (unless you can suggest something else) are:

#1. M44 and a crate of ammo
#2. Yugo SKS 59/66 and no ammo
#3. Yugo 24/47 mauser (not sure if they will be at the show) and another tin of 8mm mauser ammo.

Or I guess I could always save for something more expensive but... not likely!

Being sort of a Mauser guy, I'd say hold out for a nice Yugo Mauser.

Also, don't rule out one of the recent Enfields, being imported from India or Pakistan - they can sometimes be had for around 150 bucks and some are in great shape and are very good shooters.

I saw a decent looking MKIII Lithgow Australian Enfield going for 180 bucks at a show last weekend...could have talked him down to 150 maybe. They're out there.

yeah I'm having a tough time hear.

I've been wanting a semi auto rifle for a while and sks are a lot of fun to shoot.

The M44 would make a nice brother to the 91/30.

and mausers are always cool.

I guess I could just walk around the show and see what I find... crazy idea I know.

Hell, I have half of my collection, doing just that.

Like Mausers, Enfields and Mosins...just walking around the shows, I would see something and say to myself "that looks cool and its affordable..I'll try it."

Next thing I know, I have several variations of each! A dreaded disease of which I am sure there is no cure.

I try to save a few dollars a day and save up for things like gunshows. Hey! a dollar a day for a whole year and you have $365 to spend I'd rather buy a gun than go golfing

I've tortured myself and went to gunshows with limited funds. It's painful I've gone to some and bought some small items, and ammo just to make the trip worthwhile, but you leave with a empty feeling

$150 wouldn't put a small dent in any gunshow I would attend. I say save up for the next one or if you have to... the Enfield is a good buy and use the change on some ammo.

I was mostly going to pick up something from J&G... however brickboy pointed out I could look around. I can't imagine finding much for $150 other than what I mentioned though.
