Picked up another J-Frame last night
I picked up another J-Frame last night, I wasn't in the market for one but I simply could not pass up the trade deal for it though .357 out of an 12oz J-frame is going to be "fun".

Congrats on the new gun! Looks right at home in the family.
What did you trade / pay for it?

I traded one of my numerous AKs and a old hi point carbine for the 340 scandium and a pretty much brand new GSG-5.

Friggin 642 grip screw rusting. Mine rusted any time I looked at it funny. I ended up having it refinished :P

As you already know the J frames are the "gold standard" for small CCW Handguns. You can't have too many IMO. Full power .357 will be a real handfull to say the least out of a 340.

.38+p is a HANDFULL out of the 642, I cannot imagine shooting .357 out of a gun that light. I have a taurus .357 that's about the same size and twice the weight and it's brutal firing .357 out of.
Funny story when I got my 642 I took it in for a trigger job after about 200 rounds the trigger was still really heavy, the wife at the time couldn't fire it at all. The gun smith brings it out after all the work's done and goes "well I took it down to 10 lbs, that's the lightest I would recommend for this gun, I'm not sure what the trigger pull was because my scale only goes to 25 lbs........"
