I removed the park finish with a product called Evaporust. Its designed to remove rust but it works well to remove blueing and parkerization too. You can buy it online but I got mine from a local Autozone store. I needed two bottles to have enough to submerge the whole frame. You let it soak in it overnight and then the next day you can just rub the finish off with your fingers. I love that stuff because it's completely safe, won't harm the metal, it's non-toxic, doesn't really smell bad, it's cheap, and its re-usable. Anyway, after that I spent many hours sanding everything to try and get the pitting out. I had some success but finally accepted the fact that I would never be able to sand out all that pitting. That's when I turned to Durafil. I can't imagine any other way I could have fix that pitting.

I wish the roll marks were in better shape. I think its important to point out that the roll marks looked that way before I ever sanded anything. I believe the guy who had the pistol before me went crazy with the bead blasting and took too much off. I can't think of any other way it could have gotten that way.

Probably more info than you wanted. Sorry for digressing.

~Cheers.

Thanks. Yeah, I should mention that the Duracoat still isn't fully cured at this point. It still takes like 3 more weeks before it's completely cured. But after baking, it is definitely ready to be reassembled. I just wouldn't shoot it for a few more weeks.

Very nice work. I have Duracoated several handguns and rifles myself over the years with very good results. I really like your "painting JIG" setup, very nice indeed. The CZ75 is an outstanding pistol also. Great job.
