Well I was messing around today and went to the pawn shop to see what they had. I found a used Mill Pro .40 cal. stainless finish. It is in great shape not a scratch on it. I got the pistol and 50 rounds of magtech for 300 out the door. I didn't think that was too bad. I shot 50 to 75 rounds through without a single problem, and it was a little dirty to start with. The DAO trigger will take some getting used to. That is my only complaint, the XD trigger is much better. It conceals much easier than my 4" XD 40. I figure that i will hold on to it for a little while then maybe use it on a trade for a XD-SC.

My wife has a PT111 Pro (similar to the PT140. She loves it. It shoots pretty well. I'm not too crazy about the trigger, but it doesn't bother her.

I do.

Great gun for the price. I knew when I bought it that the trigger was 100% double action. The XD is about 5% double action.

It has been 100% reliable.

The only thing I don't like is the exposed magazine release. I keep accidently hitting it while shooting! I'm trying to figure out a way to avoid it. And it is not reversible damn it.

If anyone knows of a way to mod this trigger or a place that does please let me know. My dad and I shoot one and the trigger pull is supper long. I hate it so much I am willing to try almost anything

Get some A-Zoom snap caps from Pistol-Gear and dry fire that baby until it smooths out. It works, but it won't make it an XD.

The slide on the Taurus does not pre-cock the striker like the XD so I don't think the Taurus trigger can be modified to what you are looking for.

I reworked the "Sear" on my PT145 MilPro and my Wifes Pt140 MilPro reducing trigger travel to 1/2" at the tip of the trigger also polished every contact surface it now has a super smooth 5 lb trigger pull, not quite as good as any of my S&W revolvers but real close. The pt145 has replaced my Caspian framed/slide officer .45 I used to use for a carry gun The PT140 grip is just a tiny bit smaller than the PT145 grip so I took the .45 which was originally hers and gave her the .40...

we've put several thousand rounds through both guns and not the slightest issue, I'm so used to my 1911 triggers that it took about 2K rounds for me to get used to the MilPro trigger, my wife never shot a handgun till she met me and as I'm a smith all of mine have reworked triggers but her not being biased by the 1911 issue (30 years I've been workin with ol' Slab sides) she had no issues with the trigger and was shooting 2" groups after 100 rounds!! But then she has a Keltec p11 that I reworked as much as possible but still its got a 7lb trigger from h@ll that I just can't hit the side of a barn with she can take it and put every round into the end of a small (1lb) coffee can at 20 yards So......

The 140 as well as the .45 big brother have Glock style chambers so when it comes to ammo in the .40 follow all Glock unsupported chamber cautions I've ran set back slugs as much as .020" with the .45 with no issues and run very hot handloads through it BUT when it comes to the .40 I use all care possible otherwise its a very dependable weapon and the recoil in even the .45 is nothing way faster back on target than the officer leangth 1911 I used to use..

I just bought a PT 140 today. Walk out price was 330.00 NIB.. Feel like I did well. Range time begins in the morning, though I already own 2 other Taurus 9MM (Pti111 and 24/7) I'm looking forward to shooting the newbie 40.

I also went to Wally World and got 600 Rounds of 9MM and 600 of .40 plus some Hornady HP's ... Ran them out of their .40 and 9MM stock

The ammo cost almost as much as the gun... I will post pics and range report soon..

Taurus mil pro 40

I currently have a taurus mil pro 40 and I love it. I've put close to 300 rounds throught it, no failures. I like the way it feels, it fits my hand perfectly, and the ergonomics are great. I bought the stainless version new in box with a trade for $180, cant beat that.! For the money, I think its one of the best pistols out there.
