Maybe it is a CLIP?????

other magazine fed rifles in their line states terms as "7 shot clip" or "7 shot clip magazine"

Maybe they are confused too?

I think they are just assuming (probably correctly ) that the average Joe Walmart refers to them as clips, hence the awkward "clip magazine" nomenclature.

Hey 03RangerXLT you should get hold of the factory and have them send you some free mags to replace those clips you got with the rifle.

I was reading a PDF catalog on the net the other day and their magazines section was littered with CLIPS! It annoyed me so much that I probably won't buy there.

Man, that is a sore point with me, it makes me cringe when people come into the store and want to know, and the conversation usually goes like this, so you know why they call them clips! "have you got any clips" "Yes, for what" "A S&W"....."ah, which model? Sigma, or steel gun" "no, it's like this"...and points to the Glock that a customer is carrying. " Ok, you have a Glock 40S&W, not a S&W, which model".........."ah, I didn't know there were different ones" "Ok, come over here and take a look in the showcase and show me which one" "ah, I think it's that one there" A couple of hours later, they show back up because the magazine, er Clip, won't stay in. You then explain it won't stay in because, they bought one for a sub compact and they have a mid size. It happens almost every day.
