M&P 45compact vs XD45compact

Trying to decide betweeen these two. I have owned a XD 45c in the past and loved it. And now miss it. So Im looking into getting another 45acp and the M&P has got me interested. One of the main reasons for not just picking up another XD is the Crimson Trace laser grips. I really want CT grips but do not like the way they fit on an XD. The CT fits the Smith M&P's very nicely.

Has anyone shot or own both?

Owned both, no longer do; my carry guns are 9mm now (Glock 19s) and the only .45 I have is a 1911 for "nostalgia" purposes...

That said, given the choice, I'd take the M&P. I'd feel comfortable with the XD though. If you want CTC grips, the M&P is a no brainer. Only caveat to that is that it's a no brainer for pretty much any M&P except the 45c, as to my knowledge, Crimson Trace doesn't have a model for the 45c yet.
